Deputy Project Director, WWW Project
CfBT Education Trust is looking for a qualified and suitable person to support the Wasichana Wote Wasome (WWW) project work for a short term contract of seven (7) months as a Deputy Project Director.
Job Purpose: The Deputy Project Director will work closely with Project Director to provide leadership and coordination of the project ensuring quality and timely delivery of the project activities.
The position will oversee and provide guidance and support to operational and technical staff to implement project components, including teacher coaching, community and household support, girls support and government engagement, monitoring and evaluation and funds management.
The incumbent will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, schools, consortium partners/donors and Consultants in support of the overall project implementation.
She/he will maintain the networking relationships with clients including government, civil society and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery and synergy within the consortium and across with other initiatives being undertaken in the country.
- Provide support to the Project Director and partners to identify, plan and manage implementation of project activities including learning lessons to inform quality project improvements, sustainability, and policy outcomes.
- Support effective coordination and synergies between national level, county level, and school based, and community based activities for timely approach to achieving project deliverables.
- Maintain oversight of implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning to ensure relevant project data is collected analyzed in compliance with CFBT and DFID/PWC reporting requirements.
- Provide oversight of technical and/or operational products such as success stories and other products for communications to internal and external clients.
- Maintain oversight of Child protection policy and implementation activities to ensure compliance with CFBT and DFID/PWC requirements.
- Ensure timely and quality processing and delivery of all donor reports, research reports and quarterly reports
- Represent the Project in meetings with donors and partners whenever assigned and as acting Project Director as necessary.
- A Master’s degree or higher in education or a related field, and a minimum of 12 years of relevant professional engagement in the education sector or related sectors and with a minimum of three years in senior management or similar roles
- Prior experience and familiarity with donor project management policies, procedure and reporting requirements, particularly DFID.
- Proven management and implementation of large education projects or similar project and prior experience managing large-scale projects of US $5 million or more with geographically dispersed teams
- Strong leadership skills across various levels of staff and locations.
- Strong ability to work across technical and operational areas.
- Strong communication, both oral and written, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop excellent relations with key stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated by ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff, clients and consultants.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities
- Concise and accurate report writing
