ICAP of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Kenyan Ministry of Health, to strengthen HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment services at County and Sub County health facilities. 

This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

Applications are invited for the following position under the QI Collaborative Project:
 
 
Job Title: Technical Advisor – Quality Improvement

Location: Kisumu with travel to ICAP sites in Nyanza
 
Overall Job Function: Reporting to the Regional Director- Nyanza, the Technical Advisor-QI is a member of the senior technical team and oversees the implementation of QI Collaborative Project.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • To oversee and provide technical support to the QI Collaborative project in Kenya
  • To provide supervision of staff of the QI Collaborative project
  • To approve procurement of equipment and consumables for the project
  • To lead QI training activities and learning sessions of staff of the health facilities
  • To synthetize and disseminate best practices and lessons learned to government officials, implementers and key stakeholders
  • To provide mentorship on QI activities
  • To assist in program monitoring and evaluation
  • To liaise with County officials and other stakeholders in coordinating implementation of the QI program
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery or Diploma of Clinical Medicine
  • Masters in Public Health (MPH) or similar degree is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in the implementation of health programs
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant QI activities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with County/County health care programs in Kenya
  • Clinical experience of HIV medicine an advantage
  • Strong supervisory and management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
