Job Vacancy: Social Media Marketer
 
The post holder is responsible for the delivery and evolution of our digital communications across our websites and social media pages, as well as for maximizing opportunities to enhance the digital user experience, editing web content and monitoring traffic and engagement.

Major Tasks
  • To create and implement our digital marketing strategy .
  • To create and write exciting, punchy content suitable for the website, including rewriting/editing content;
  • To maximize SEO opportunities to improve our rankings in Kenya, Africa and other key international markets;
  • To keep key content areas of the website fresh and dynamic by seeking out new copy, imagery, audio and video materials;
  • To ensure all website content is accurate, accessible, consistent and up-to-date by systematically checking and updating web pages and also by removing information on a timely basis;
  • To draft our social media strategy and policies and ensure we are capitalizing on publicity opportunities via social media channels (includes Facebook, LinkedIn and twitter etc);
  • To oversee e-marketing campaigns, including producing, writing and distributing our e-newsletters and to oversee any other e-commerce initiatives;
  • To work in an editorial and advisory capacity with key content providers here, including travel and tour bloggers, in some cases uploading content on their behalf;
  • To project manage the development of new micro-sites and other digital initiatives;
  • To work with other areas of the business on project related activities those require redevelopment or deployment of new web content/functionality;
  • To maintain a continuous and positive dialogue with our staff, proactively seeking out fresh and creative content and generally keeping an awareness of forthcoming activities to be marketed via the website;
  • To respond promptly to inquiries from the web audience, either received directly from the website or as referrals from members of staff;
  • To provide training and support to a small group of website users to enable them to input and develop their content, including producing relevant documentation, tutorials and guidelines for website users and contributors;
  • To produce monthly reports evaluating the effectiveness of the websites and social media channels and make recommendations for improvements;
  • To maintain accurate and relevant information on our intranet and foyer-based plasma screen; To report to and be a member of the ICT Committee to help inform and play a role in shaping ICT strategy;
  • To maintain a thorough awareness of developments and trends in digital marketing and communications both nationally and internationally and make recommendations as appropriate to Management.
Qualifications
  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
  • At least 4 years, proven working experience in digital marketing in tour & travel industry.
  • Marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
