Nairobi Java House, the leading chain of restaurants in Nairobi, is seeking talented & experienced individuals to fill in the following positions:

Head Storekeeper

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Developing and controlling standard procedures to create consistency in the goods and services.
  • Overseeing and executing all inventory control procedures ensuring maximum safeguard of the company's physical inventory.
  • Providing leadership, and ongoing training and development of warehouse employees at all levels.
  • Managing the warehouse according to budget by ensuring accurate inventory and order selection, productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space and equipment, and proper protection of stored materials and company assets.
  • Ordering for replenishment of goods in coordination with the Procurement Manager.
  • Controlling and inspecting goods from suppliers in compliance with the set procedures of the company.
  • Issuing goods according to fully approved requisitions from user departments.
  • Identifying slow moving and dead stock items and reporting them promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management
  • University Degree is an added advantage
  • Must have minimum 5 years experience at a senior level at a large company in a similar position
  • Excellent leadership, management and coordination
  • Good communication skills
  • Team leader with the ability to co-ordinate tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience in using the SERA and/or Materials Control systems will be an added advantage
Procurement Officer

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Managing effectively company's procurement process.
  • Processing and evaluating quotations and expediting orders.
  • Evaluating supplier performance.
  • Advising the company on the market trends.
  • Liaising with user departments and central stores to ensure timely delivery of goods and services to avoid stock outs
  • Creating and maintaining effective relationship and partnership with suppliers.
  • Conducting market research to ensure that the company gets the best prices at all the times.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management
  • University Degree is an added advantage
  • Must have minimum two years experience in a large company in a similar position.
  • Has management and coordination skills Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Good communication skills Good negotiation skills
  • High integrity
Head Baker

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and improving the standards of bakery production and presentation set by the establishment through proper supervision of staff in the bakery
  • Ensuring prompt delivery of products to the various restaurants
  • Minimizing waste, control stock rotation and portion control while ensuring no compromise on set standards.
  • Ensuring consistency in products preparation
  • Assisting in developing and testing of recipes Responsible for the day-to-day running of the bakery.
  • Creating and maintaining a harmonious working relationship within the department and with other departments.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Professional pastry chef qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years and above as a supervisor in bakery or pastry section in a busy establishment
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Has a bias for quality and deadlines
  • Team leader and player
  • Creative and has an eye for detail and consistency
  • Fast, efficient and flexible
  • Ability to manage and train a big team as well as motivate staff
  • Ability to handle challenges in a demanding environment
