We are looking for candidates to fill the following position in our esteemed organisation:

Switch Board / Help Desk Operator

Primary Purpose of the Job: To facilitate effective communication between Monte Casino and various stakeholders.

Level of Authority: Has the authority to execute all Key Performance Areas as stated on this form.

Education / Experience / Qualifications / Skill Requirements

  • Minimum form 4
  • Call Centre qualification required
Job related work experience    
  • Secretarial / receptionist / front office Certificate/Diploma would be an advantage
  • Not less 2 years’ experience in a busy similar environment.
  • Computer literate on MS Office packages – (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)

  • Good Communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good report writing and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, organise and control own work effort
  • Ability to manage more than one situation at a time

Key Performance Areas

Key Job Outputs
  • Receive incoming telephone calls for the organisation and forward calls to appropriate persons or departments as requested
  • Give callers information as required
  • Provide non-technical information, including telephone numbers, extensions, and locations of individuals within the organisation
  • Maintain records of calls and messages which cannot be delivered at once
  • Handle emergency calls when required
  • Observe and record charges for long-distance or other calls
  • Generate and update a directory for all users within the client’s site
  • Receive Helpdesk calls during peak periods
