Summary: Our client is a FMCG company looking for a Shopper & Customer Marketing Specialist – Sales Analytics

 
Job Summary:
 
The purpose of this role will be;
  • To lead the data analysis for the Sales and S&CM team.
  • To daily track IMS, productivity for General Trade as well as Numeric distribution based on the new RTM concept. To support best practice and data for all consumer and trade promotions aimed at achieving agreed financial and strategic objectives.
  • To lead the DSIM, IMS tracking and Dataorbis data management for East Africa.
  • To lead the Merchandising agency and data tracking to ensure best resource allocation and steering of the agency.
  • To control and track the S&CM budget and secure it’s spend in line with budget.
  • To work with trade partners, sales controllers and external agencies to ensure accurate sell-out data reporting and insightful analysis for business decisions
Primary Responsibilities:

1. To daily track IMS, productivity for General Trade as well as Numeric distribution based on the new RTM concept
  • Establish and align monthly IMS target for General trade and track daily IMS by distributor and sales rep against monthly target.
  • Analyze and align monthly target achievement for DSR, SR, Merchandisers and communicate monthly results of sales competition.
  • Establish and align ND target and track monthly target by distributor and sales area.
  • Track call efficiency by DSR and distributor.

2. Consumer & Trade Promotional analysis:
  • Support best practice and data availability for all consumer and trade promotions aimed at achieving agreed financial and strategic objectives
  • Support tracking, analysis and reporting results on a timely basis to include success of Price discounts, gift with purchase promotions, discount voucher promotions and other types of outreach and awareness initiatives to identify correlations between campaign goals and return on investment (ROI); interpret analysis and make recommendations to management.
  • Develop and maintain benchmarks that will determine program success as a result of ongoing analysis; utilize benchmarks to develop tactical programs and forecast results.
3. Lead DSIM, IMS distributor data management:
  • Ensure quality for all East Africa distributor IMS data and secure data quality in DSIM system.
4. Lead the Merchandising agency and data tracking to ensure best resource allocation and steering of the agency
  • Track main KPI’s of merchandising agency against defined targets.
  • Detect opportunities to improve reach, coverage, hours spend by store and optimize resource allocation.
  • Support S&CM Manger in the steering of the agency.
5. To control and track the S&CM budget and secure it’s spend in line with budget.
  • Responsible for the tracking of the S&CM budget and it’s spending in line with internal FC’s.
  • Partner with the development of the annual budgets; insure maximum cost efficiencies and balanced spending are consistently achieved; track and insure accurate budget forecasting.
  • Responsible for overseeing channel sampling budgets and promotional goals while predicting and monitoring redemption rates to ensure controlled spending. Make recommendations to optimize sampling budgets and results.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Business/Marketing-related Bachelors’ Degree from a reputable University
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within a similar role
  • Highly analytical-minded who enjoys working with numbers
  • Well organized with good attention to detail
  • Great team player
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Good communication and
  • Presentation skills
  • Commercial-minded and strong focus on efficiency
  • Assertive and firm in managing
  • Agencies but able to build effective and healthy working relationships
  • Good IT literacy and competency in using online data management and reporting portals is a distinct advantage)
  • Relevant market /category knowledge
