Expression of Interest (EOI) For Consultancy Services

Turkana MSME Capacity Building Program

TechnoServe invites suitably qualified consultants to submit capability statements for provision of services to its Turkana MSME Capacity Building Programme.

General Company Information: TechnoServe is an international, non-profit economic development organization founded in 1968 out of a conviction that a vibrant private sector is an essential foundation for economic growth and poverty reduction.

TechnoServe undertakes targeted, catalytic technical assistance and other programming to increase the competitiveness of entrepreneurs, businesses and industries that in-turn provide sustainable employment, inclusion of the poor and increased incomes.

TechnoServe operates in 29 developing countries with over 1,500 employees.

Project Overview: Tullow Kenya has a unique opportunity to contribute to a thriving Turkana County where jobs and income-generating opportunities provide households with sustainable livelihoods.

While Tullow can play a positive role in the economy as a customer for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with sufficient capacity, there is recognition that Tullow cannot be the driving force behind all economic growth in Turkana County.

In order to mitigate over-reliance of the community on Tullow for jobs or supply contracts and to avoid unrealistic expectations, there is a window of opportunity to support the creation of a thriving ecosystem of MSMEs that offer in-demand products and services in Turkana County.

TechnoServe with funding from Tullow will provide business development services to MSMEs in Turkana to contribute to the successful achievement of objectives through implementing initiatives that support the social and economic welfare of communities in Turkana thereby fostering sustained job creation, income generation and livelihood resilience.
