WFP is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against hunger. WFP, through an asset creation programme, supports county governments’ (Turkana, Baringo, Marsabit, Isiolo, Samburu, Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, Tana River, Kilifi, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Makueni, Kitui, Tharaka) efforts of building communities’ resilience to the recurring droughts. 

Through the Asset Creation (AC) Programme communities are supported to implement projects such as small scale irrigation, water dams, water pans, rock catchments, farm ponds, flood irrigation etc.
To implement the projects WFP Kenya establishes through a selective tender process, local contracts with technical institutions for the implementation of the projects. 

The current projects will require contracts for the following:
a) Support to the small scale irrigation projects (development of intakes from main rivers; primary canals, distribution boxes, lining of primary canals)
b) Developing water points (Water dams, water pans, rock catchments, household farm ponds).

Interested institutions are requested to submit their applications via email to [email protected]

The documents should be received at WFP not later than 1700hrs EA time on 14th July 2017. 

The firms will be required to submit, inter alia, the following documents;
  1. Company profile, should cover; company structure, head office and branches, scope of services
  2. Written commercial referees and testimonials.
  3. Cover letter with contact details
  4. Certificate of Incorporation, PIN Certificate, VAT certificate + compliance
  5. List of small scale irrigation and water points projects implemented in the last five years including the clients
  6. List of your key technical staff, and their CVs
  7. Authorisation and permits from relevant government and technical regulatory institutions.
