The County Government of Bomet through the Public Service Board wishes to recruit qualified and competent persons for the position of Chief Officer in various dockets.

Chief Officer
10 Posts
The Chief Officer who shall be the accounting and authorized officer for delegated authority, shall be in charge of the following dockets:
  1. Finance and Economic Planning
  2. Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives
  3. Water, Sanitation and Environment
  4. Medical Service and Public Health
  5. Education and Vocational Training
  6. Land, Housing and Urban Planning
  7. Roads, Public Works and Transport
  8. Administration, ICT and Public Service
  9. Trade, Industry and Tourism
  10. Youth, Gender, Sports and Culture
Requirements for appointment
  1. Be a Kenyan Citizen
  2. Be a holder of at least a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
  3. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
Duties and Responsibilities
The chief officer, reporting to the County Executive member in charge shall be the authorized officer and be responsible for:
  1. The general administration of the department.
  2. Implementation of policies and development plans.
  3. Development and implementation of Strategic plans.
  4. Formulating and implementing effective programs to attain Vision 2030 and sector goals.
  5. Promoting national values and principles of governance, values and principles of Public Service.
Terms of Service: Contract
The salary payable for all three positions will be as per the guidelines of Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

Residents of Bomet County are required to state their Sub-County and Ward of residence.

  2. Clearance documents for purposes of complying with the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution will be required from those shortlisted.
  3. Hand delivered applications can be submitted to the Secretariat, Public Service Board, next to the County Assembly.
  4. All applications for the position of Chief Officer should be submitted so as to reach the undersigned on or before 11th September 20I7.
