These tasks include, but are not limited to helping with the set-up, monitoring and adjusting of mill processing equipment.
Physical Demands and Requirements: You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including hair hats, gloves, safety shoes, and respiratory protection and ear protection as appropriate. 

This job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies and memos, and to communicate clearly with your co-workers and supervisors.

It is important to have vision that permits close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The successful candidate will ensure the Health and Safety of all subordinates within the company guidelines and current legislation. 
  • Ensure all functional management are aware of the correct codes of practice, both statutory and advisory, that govern accepted standards of safe operation at all premises. 
  • Ensure production plant adheres the GMP both internally and externally. 
  • Ensure regular site inspections, trainings, reporting and also ensure full employee awareness of safe working practices and their role in maintaining the required standards.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform and record mill extractions and adjust equipment accordingly. 
  • Monitor test results of product samples to maintain product specification. 
  • Progressively advance mill process management skills toward shift milling. 
  • Advance within team leadership towards supervisory position. 
  • Able to rotate among shift teams as needed. 
  • Set up, monitor and adjust mill processing equipment
  • Continuously assess mill operating conditions and make corrections to keep product within in specifications. 
  • Perform GMP activities such as cleaning, routine maintenance and repairs as assigned. 
  • Clean up and remove product spills in a timely manner. 
  • Monitor filling/transfer of feed and flour to the assigned bins.
  • A degree or higher national diploma (HND) in relevant field with preference for qualifications and experience in food science/technology, process engineering, production engineering and management.
  • Experience and good understanding of ISO 22000 FSMS, HACCP, GMP, US EAS 768:2012, US 28 EAS 39:2002, EAS 39:2001 and all other relevant standards as applicable in the processing and packaging of fortified maize flour.
  • The suitable candidate should also have good managerial and reporting skills
