Declaration of the Vacancy of Office of the Speaker


Pursuant to Article 178(1) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 that establishes that each County Assembly shall have a Speaker elected from among persons who are not Members of the Assembly as read together with Section 25 of the Elections Act, 2011 and the Murangá County Assembly Standing Orders, NOTICE is hereby given to the general public that the Office of the Speaker of the County Assembly of Murangá shall fall vacant on the First Sitting of the Second Assembly. 

 
The said sitting shall be held at a place and a date to be gazetted by H.E The Governor of Murangá County.
 
Accordingly, the Office of the Clerk invites interested persons who qualify to be elected for the position of the Speaker of the County Assembly to collect nomination forms from the Office of the Clerk on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 9:00 am.
 
Requirements
 
Interested persons must meet qualifications under Article 193 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Section 25 of the Elections Act, 2011.

Application Criteria
 
Persons interested in filling the above position should submit:
  1. Duly filled and signed nomination forms.
  2. Clearance Certificate from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission.
  3. Certified copies of academic certificates.
  4. Clearance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  5. Compliance Certificate from the High Education Loans Board (HELB).
  6. Clearance Certificate from the National Police Service.
  7. Clearance Certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
  8. Certified copy of the National ID or Passport.
  9. A copy of the Curriculum Vitae (CV).
The aforementioned documents should be HAND DELIVERED to the Office of the Clerk of County Assembly located at the premises of Murang’a County Assembly, opposite Ihura Stadium in a sealed envelope so as to reach him at least 48 hours before the day of the First Sitting of the Assembly pursuant to Standing Order 7 (2) of the Muranga County Assembly Standing Orders.

Candidates with foreign academic certificates MUST obtain accreditation from the Commission for Higher Education of Kenya.
