Job Vacancy: Senior Accountant

Summary:
Our client, Sayani Investments Limited is an investment firm based in Kenya.

They have diversified investments across different sectors and across different asset classes. Sayani Investments has a focus on real estate, but also invests in private equity and in public financial markets. 

They are looking for a dedicated Senior Accountant responsible for the management of the company accounts, the development, implementation and maintenance of systems and controls to safeguard the company’s assets, and the integrity of its financial data and operations.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Generate monthly and annual financial reports and analyze financial information to support decision making.
  • Prepare and track quarterly and annual budgets and justify variances.
  • Assist with interim and annual audit preparation by ensuring necessary ledger analysis and supporting documents.
  • Timely computation, filing and submission of corporate taxes.
  • Review all invoices for accuracy, appropriate supporting documentation and approval prior to posting in accounting system and payment.
  • Maintain supplier lists and reconcile accounts payables.
  • Verify and dispatch invoices; advising clients on best payment plans.
  • Generate receivables aging reports for compliance purposes.
  • Recording of incoming payments and follow up on delinquent accounts
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA (K) or ACCA qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressive roles.
  • Strong knowledge of taxation laws
  • Knowledge of accounting software: ERP, Payroll Plus & Quickbooks
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
  • High degree of initiative and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
