Job Vacancy: Digital Marketing Intern
 
Africa Turnaround Limited (ATL) works with small business entrepreneurs to transform their businesses into large scale trans-generational enterprises.

ATL works with entrepreneurs to grow their businesses through rewarding market solutions which are delivered through market linkages and supported by financial linkages, training, and business mentoring. 
ATL conduct research to aid in crafting market solutions and practical winning strategies for small businesses. 

We also take large scale enterprises through business strengthening with the aim of making them more competitive and preparing them to become trans-generational enterprises. 

We partner with like-minded organizations to share our expertise in small business development through consultancy, project advisory and advocacy.

The Publicity and Marketing Intern position at ATL is an entry level position that offers on the job training and growth opportunities for young professionals interested in small business development in various sectors.

General Information

Position: Publicity and Marketing Intern
 
Working Hours: 8am – 5pm (Monday to Friday)
 
Location: Nairobi
 
Working Closely with: Business Development
 
Reporting to: Business Development

Job Description: The Digital Marketing Intern is responsible for implementing a publicity plan for Africa Turnaround Limited and Twalisha Limited in three avenues; mainstream media, online media and events. 

There will be ample opportunity to contribute ideas to management. 

The job entails taking up duties in two key areas as outlined below:

Social Media
  • Updates company’s social media accounts- Twitter, facebook, linkedIn
  • Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with ATL.
  • Posts updates, news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content.
  • Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and posts it to our Facebook and Twitter page in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
  • •Updates Facebook and Twitter accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from ATL’s activities and events.
  • •Grows ATL’s online social networks by increasing fan‐base and interactions.
  • mpletes other social media projects as assigned.
Digital Media
  • Takes pictures and videos of training events to be developed into content for the ATL’s website, Facebook , LinkedIN and Twitter pages.
  • Uploads ATL’s photos and videos to the appropriate server.
  • Organizes and archives digital images and videos.
  • Completes other digital media projects as assigned.
Research  and Events
  • Regularly observes the online activity of model organizations researches and reports on “social media best practices”.
  • Completes other research projects as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain relations with local media.
  • Research and write all media releases, articles and testimonials
  • Research and write the quarterly Company Newsletters
  • Identify opportunities and generate ideas for media coverage, and pitch ideas to appropriate media outlets
Analytics and Reporting
  • Uses Insights and Analytics from the social media accounts to assess trends and activity on the ATL’s social media pages and website.
  • Reviews data on the performance of social media platforms and adjusts plans or strategies to optimize reach.
Learning Commitment
  • Proactively seeks professional development and client experience opportunities in order to enhance their ability to service ATL’s business and technical environments.
  • Grows to differentiate when requirements and outcomes have not been clearly articulated and is able to communicate to the project leader when additional clarity is required.
  • Documentation skills continue to improve through experience.
  • Committed to improving their understanding of small businesses and the sectors ATL works in.
  • Regularly expanding their knowledge by asking questions and clearly communicating on areas where they need support.
Key Skills and Attributes Required
  • Aspiration to grow and develop into a cutting edge Digital Media expert.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Competence in MS Office programmes (especially MsWord and MS Excel).
  • Positive professional attitude and work ethic.
Academic Background
  • Degree Level and Above (Media related field)
  • Computer Proficiency
