Broadcast Media Sector Sales and Distribution Manager Job in Kenya

Our client, a leader in the broadcast media sector, seeks to appoint a suitably qualified & dedicated individual to assume the responsibility of Sales and Distribution Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of the sales strategy aimed at increasing the market share and overall profitability of the organization, in line with the business strategic and tactical objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and distribution channels.
  • Ensure all relevant internal and external stakeholders receive all pertinent communications.
  • In coordination with the HR team, develop and coach sales supervisors and team leaders to meet or exceed specific goals for profitable revenue growth.
  • Monitor, analyze sales and market trends.
  • Compile forecasts of stock distribution based on customer demands.
  • Proactively analyze customer needs and make appropriate recommendations for improving the overall sales approach.
  • Prepare a monthly Sales Report showing the sales performance against budgets and provide appropriate comments on variances.
  • Identify and address sales gaps.
  • Source leads for the sales teams.
  • Create an enthusiastic and successful sales environment focusing on thinking outside the box and challenging the norm in business.
  • Develop annual sales plans for increase of market share and profitability on sustainable basis in line with the company Business Plan.
  • Use the latest sales techniques & tools to manage the delivery of the sales team
  • Plan and implement local sales promotion in consultation with marketing.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Responsible to conduct and ensure subordinates conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values of ethics, policies and other standard of conduct.
  • Undertake physical visits/ travels to upcountry towns to assess the performance of the company’s sales channels and the markets.
  • Undertake daily review of sales team activities
  • Undertake monthly review and reporting of sales team activities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, sales or any business related field.
  • At least 5 years Sales management experience with an excellent track record of results.
  • Experience in writing, coordinating and producing competitive sales proposals.
  • Retail market intelligence, knowledge and understanding.
  • High level of financial and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills with interpersonal flexibility.
  • Professional qualification from CIM will be an added advantage.
  • Masters Degree in business related field will be an added advantage.
  • Experience selling in FMCG/Telcos Sector or Pay TV will be an added advantage.
  • Assertiveness combined with diplomacy / tact and Cultural sensitivity.
  • Team work.
Remuneration: An attractive salary package is on offer dependent on skills, qualifications and experience.
