Flowers Exporter Human Resources Manager Job in Kenya

Summary: Our client is an exporter of flowers grown by farmers in Kenya. 

They manage both own-farms and out-growers striving to ensure that the quality of their flowers from farm to end-user is paramount to international standards. 

They are looking to fill the role of the Human Resources Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that the people structure, processes, culture and capabilities are in place to support the business strategy and positively impact individual performance and drive outstanding business results.
Key responsibilities:
  • Assess organizational needs and developing HR strategies that meet these needs
  • Review and update policies, practices and procedures and oversee their implementation
  • Participate in manpower planning; ensuring timely recruitment and staffing of required staff. Plan and conduct induction and retention programmes.
  • Assist line managers on disciplinary and grievance matters and ensuring speedy resolution.
  • Actively process and manage the payroll
  • Plan and manage personnel administration activities such as benefits, welfare and leave administration.
  • Oversee the adherence to health and safety requirements.
  • Develop and administer compensation, benefits, training and performance management systems aimed at increasing productivity in the company.
  • Keep abreast and provide the most up-to-date information on the current developments and best practices in the HR field.
  • Represent the company in HR forums.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Education, skills and competencies
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or social sciences or related course coupled with a Post Graduate Diploma in human resources
  • At least four (4) years’ experience in an HR generalist role
  • Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, policies and procedures
  • Self-driven and results oriented
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • High sense of confidentiality; good organisation and planning skills; flexible and high level of tolerance
