International Charity NGO Temporary Finance & Admin Assistant Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Our client is an international charity NGO seeking to recruit a temporary candidate to fill the post of a Temporary Finance & Admin Assistant to provide financial accounting and management support across all our projects of the organization.   
 
Location: Nairobi
 
Period: 4 Months
 
Salary: Competitive

 
Finance & Admin Assistant Responsibilities
  • Assist with financial reporting as needed, including organizing office finances in coordination with the Finance & Admin Manager
  • Assist the Finance & Admin Manager with the office support systems including negotiations with vendors and service providers in the most cost effective manner.
  • Payment processing, matching requisition to invoices and LPOs, ensuring they are duly approved subject to approval limits.
  • Managing petty cash
  • Assist with filing of statutory deductions
  • Ensuring all appropriate documentation for any cheque payments are adequately filed.
  • Ensure expenditures and supporting documents are in compliance with donor’s regulation/audit requirements and coded correctly.
  • Coordinating and supporting during audits
  • Respond promptly to stakeholder needs, and solicit stakeholder feedback to improve service quality
  • Support other staff members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Finance & Admin Manager
Qualifications for the Finance & Admin Assistant 
  • Degree in a business related field with a CPA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector (NGO) desired.
  • Proven numeracy and financial analysis / planning skills.
  • Ladies are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present financial matters to non-financial managers.
  • High degree of computer literacy in Microsoft Office products especially Excel and financial systems (QuickBooks).
  • Experience of establishing good working relationships with a variety of people.
  • Proven track record in delivering results in a pressurized environment.
  • Administration skills.
  • Culturally sensitive and ability to adapt easily.
