Job Title: Sales Manager – Direct Sales Force
Division / Department: Business Development
Immediate Supervisor: Head of Sales & Business Development

Overall Responsibility: The position is responsible for coordination and supervision of the Agency team. 

He or she will be responsible for driving the sales and marketing of key company products and services as per the set and agreed targets, makes sure that the Agency teams understand the company’s Key Performance measures, be part of the team to recruit, train, monitor, motivate and maintain a highly effective sales force.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Development of the business strategy for the channel.
  • Design & implement sales & marketing plans, set short & long term goals and targets for the Agency Managers and their sales teams.
  • The identifying, vetting and recruitment of Agency Managers and Sales Agents as per the company’s guidelines, terms and conditions.
  • Setting and monitoring production targets with the Various Units countrywide in conjunction with the Branch Managers.
  • Communicating & monitoring the adherence to company procedures like underwriting protocols, business mix, premium collections & channel profitability.
  • Training of the Agency teams on products, selling & closing skills and relationship management.
  • Maintain a database of potential leads, oversee the conversion rate of new business leads to actual policies.
  • Organize and coordinate regular sales drives in the markets including product activations to enhance and achieve sales targets.
  • Participate as a member of the product development committee to come up with unique & innovative products that can be sold through the channel.
  • Ensure retention and motivations of Agency Managers and their team members.
  • Provide structured regular management reports on channel performance, teams performance & market intelligence and analysis of key action items that need attention and following up to ensure timely implementation/remedial measures taken.
  • Uphold the Brand image and ensure compliance with all internal as well as external regulations.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Minimum – a Bachelor’s degree preferably in sales and marketing.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Insurance products and services.
  • Agency business operations.
  • Company and market knowledge.
  • Market intelligence
