Job Title: Human Resource Assistant

Reports to:
Managing Director

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to develop, implement, and administer policies and programs in the following areas: recruitment, compensation and benefits, training, labour relations and performance management. 

 
The HR Executive must leverage strong technical, communication, and negotiation skills and exercise strong judgment and decision making skills when making decisions to resolve complex employee relations issues. 

The HR Executive will determine when escalation is needed on issues or potential situations that may cause significant business risk or senior management involvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage New Hire On-Boarding Process.
  • Assure compliance with all applicable employment related laws and regulations.
  • Manage employment related documentation and records maintenance
  • Develop and implement annual staff training plan
  • Assure compliance with relevant and related contracts
  • Present and assist in proposing HR related strategies, initiatives and policies.
  • Conducting and/or participating in interviewing and hiring decisions
  • Establishing, documenting, and providing employees with measurable performance criteria
  • Conducting HR employee performance evaluations Identifying training and other employee performance and compliance enhancing needs and opportunities.
  • Developing, refining, implementing and maintaining employment related record keeping policies, procedures and practices.
  • Supporting labor and other personnel related contract negotiations.
  • Coordinating and directing departmental work quality control procedures
  • Assist in implementing safety requirements and program(s)
  • Suggesting process improvements to higher level management
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor of  Commerce (HR) degree, or related area
  • 2+ years’ experience in related position or field.
  • Very good report writing skills.
  • working knowledge of Kenyan labor laws
  • Proficiency with Ms Office Suite
