The School: Now in its 6th year of operation, the GEMS Cambridge International School, Nairobi offers the National Curriculum for England through the University of Cambridge Primary and Secondary programmes, the IGCSE and Advanced Level examinations as well as EdExcel BTEC vocational qualifications. The school caters for students from pro-Foundation Stage to Year 13.
The Post: As with all GEMS schools globally, we are seeking an experienced professional who is, or who aspires to be, an outstanding practitioner.

Performing Arts Technician
  • To maintain all PA Facilities, set and props.
  • Responsible for advising and ordering (through the HODs) technical equipment for the benefit of performances
  • To support with Public events and attend technical rehearsals and sound checks.
  • Maintain equipment in Drama/Music and Dance Studios
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in configuring and operating Audio and Visual Mixers
  • Experience in supporting live performances
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Experience with technical sound/lighting/filming equipment
  • Experience with assisting in performing arts events and productions
  • Organised
  • Reliable, flexible
  • Willingness to develop and learn new skills
  • Punctual and consistent attendance
  • Team player
  • Empathy for staff, students and community
