Social Enterprise Start-up HR Manager Job in Kenya

Our client, a start-up Social Enterprise Company in Kenya is looking for a HR Manager to join their vibrant team an inspirational leader and a great team builder. 

The HR manager will develop HR policies; handle recruitment, retaining a high performing team. 

He/she must be knowledgeable about best practices and the resources required to build and implement an international successful company strategy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and administering human resources plans and procedures from scratch that relate to company personnel
  • Developing, analyzing, and updating the company’s salary budget
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource country requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
  • Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Must have over 5 years in Human Resource experience of which 3 years must be in management level.
  • Professional certificate and member of Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and ERP system
  • Bsc / BA in Human Resource Management or relevant field.
  • Must be a team player and ability to work in a growing start up organization that embraces different types of cultures in a workplace.
  • Fluency in English language will be required, as well as an awareness of different cultures and a diplomatic approach to any associated conflicts.
  • Must have effective communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail.
  • Managing processes and effective budget development and reporting skills.
  • Must be a person that has a lot of charisma and ability to interact with employees of all levels.

Salary: KSh. 100,000 – 150,000 based on experience
