Car Dealership General Manager Job in Kenya

Job Title: General Manager (Car Dealership)
 
Department: General Management and Sales
 
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
 
Direct Reports: Sales Executives, Marketing Executives, Customer Service Representatives, HR Officer, Security officers

Role Overview: Reporting to the group CEO, the general manager will be responsible for overall direction, managing, coordinating and supervising the activities of the company to ensure set monthly, quarterly, half year and annual sales targets are achieved. 

 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide guidance and strategic planning for the dealership with respect to sales goals and targets;
  • Lead and motivate the team leaders  to ensure they meet the set team objectives and ensure they provide leadership and inspiration to their field sales teams;
  • Ensure sales volumes and profitability objectives are achieved by utilizing all sales channels in a continually changing environment;
  • Implement and execute all company-wide marketing initiatives so as to maximize their impact and to help meet or exceed sales goals;
  • Train and develop team members on sales techniques to ensure consistency and uniformity of sales approach;
  • Identify reliable  referral sources and prospects for dealership in order to create a strategy to develop relationships with prospects, and monitor and maintain positive referral source relationships;
  • Conduct sales meetings to motivate the team, set goals and share successful selling techniques and skills;
  • Develop strategies for enhanced market share and review existing sales and marketing strategies for effectiveness;
  • Develop and enhance customer relationships by establishing, promoting, maintaining excellent customer service;
  • Working closely with the group CEO, review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
Qualifications and desirable experience
  • At least a Diploma a relevant field from an accredited institution or examination body;
  • At least 5 years working experience in a leadership role, sales and marketing in motor dealership, insurance, banking or any other target driven industry.
  • Mature disposition and presence to engage with different stakeholders at different levels

  • Have strong relationship management, analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking and leadership skills;
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to inform, influence and persuade at various levels at either corporate or individual level;
  • A highly motivated, strong and assertive and ambitious person who is enthusiastic for results;
  • High levels of integrity, initiative and attention to detail;
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage several tasks and teams  simultaneously;
  • Flexible and willing to assume a range of unanticipated assignments;
  • Team player and leader who is able to achieve results through people;
  • Strong work ethic with superior professionalism and high level of responsibility;
  • An entrepreneurial minded personality with a strong business acumen and ability to smell opportunities;
  • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage work independently;
  • A strong  customer service oriented person with pleasant and outgoing personality ;
  • Adequate proficiency in ICT especially MS Office Suite.
