This position is advertised for a second phase of our response to humanitarian needs Marsabit County with a focus on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene results.
Position: WASH Project Manager
Reporting to: Project Director
Duration: 24 months
Location: Marsabit County
Key responsibilities & tasks
Lead, in consultation with Nairobi WASH specialists, project team to achieve project results by:
  • carrying out WASH technical field assessments;
  • contributing to WASH infrastructure designs and bills of quantities;
  • coordinating and supervising contracted artisans;
  • leading implementation of WASH software components;
  • representing CACH in county and sub-county stakeholder forums;
  • preparing project monitoring plans and ensure their full implementation;
  • conducting regular progress monitoring using the standard tools to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely completion of activities;
  • compiling high quality technical reports in compliance with expected reporting schedules;
  • supervising field office operations including staff movement and asset management;
  • preparing monthly office budgets and financial reports;
  • liaising with the security focal point on ensuring security protocols are fully observed by field team.
Essential requirements & qualifications
  • University degree in Civil/ Water Engineering with at least seven years of work experience with a NGO preferably in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands;
  • Expertise in the execution of water infrastructure projects including needs assessments, technical surveys, material storage control, artisan supervision;
  • Project management experience including field office and team management for at least three years;
  • Experience in prevalent WASH software implementation such as KAP surveys and O&M trainings for community groups and schools (BoM), CHAST, CLTS is an added advantage;
  • Flexibility, good interpersonal and clear oral and written communication skills;
  • The knowledge of Kiswahili is mandatory, local language skills (Marsabit) are highly desirable.
