Our client, a leading manufacturer, distributor of drinking water and alcoholic beverages in East and central Africa with head office in Nairobi is looking for a dynamic, competent and results oriented person in role of General Manager for the Uganda office
 

Job Purpose: Manages the overall sales and marketing function of the company, including product development, marketing, communications, and distribution logistics. 

Develops and approves strategies to meet investor, consumer, and employee needs. 

Communicates with people inside and outside the company to discover what policies, products, and marketing strategies will help it move forward. 

Makes important decisions that affect the company's direction and its employees.
 
Job Roles and Responsibilities
  • Takes the lead across all aspects of the company by reviewing how departments work together to reach company goals and by coming up with new ideas that will set the company apart from competitors
  • Determines the direction of the business by working with upper management and leading team members to create and implement strategies and goals
  • Builds positive and productive culture in the workplace by listening to employee opinions, making adjustments, and recognizing the team's accomplishments
  • Communicates the vision for the company and take steps to make it a reality
  • Performs other decisions as necessary, such as reviewing reports, making presentations to the board of directors, and examining how the company can optimize on cost and increase revenue
  • Ensure annual growth in productivity and profitability through robust marketing and sales plans
GM Skills and Qualifications
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in business related course, MBA will be an added advantage, with extensive industry and business experience
  • Use critical thinking to effectively solve problems
  • Apply modern theories of leadership, management and negotiation to real-world business challenges
  • Manage risk through analysis of statistics and economic data
  • Lead financial, personnel and operational initiatives to maximize growth and profitability
  • Advance organizational stability through proper risk management
  • Minimum of 7 years’ Experience in Industry
The Job Role will be based in Uganda, Jinja office
 
Remuneration: Attractive remuneration and terms shall be negotiated with the successful candidate
