Brand Manager

Job Title: Brand Manager
 
Reporting to the Retail Director, this position will be responsible for:
  • Maximizes sales and profitability for the brand;
  • Ensures effective in season management across all retail units
  • Leads brand reviews to maximize sales and profitability to set target levels;
  • Plan and execute an optimal pricing strategy to position the brand in the market;
  • Proactively manage liquidation of dead and slow lines;
  • Build a cohesive team, coaching them to meet and exceed business goals;
  • Maintains an employee value proposition that engages employees to deliver their best;
  • Analyses the effectiveness of promotions in achieving targeted levels of sales and margins;
  • Participate in profiling retail units/categories, assignment of size curves and merchandise ratios;
  • Maintain targets for forward covers and inventory sell through rates by season;
  • Ensure adherence to the merchandise ageing policy;
  • Monitor performance of merchandise categories/department, reporting on the same;
  • Manage Franchise partner relationships, ensuring compliance with agreements and processes;
  • Acts as the face of the brand internally and externally;
  • Reports on the brand profit and loss, reviewing necessary reports to monitor productivity;
  • Offers support in determining financial goals for budgeting and planning purposes;
  • Drives and tracks cost reduction initiatives throughout the brand operations;
  • Brainstorms new thoughts to progress brand perception in the market while maintaining key
  • attributes;
  • With the Marketing Manager, guides creation of promotions to the consumer, brand, and
  • business strategies;
  • Develops and delivers direct in store communication for customer retention;
  • Analyses and optimizes marketing strategies to improve returns on investment.
The Person:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in retail, sales, marketing and general management
  • Experience in executing strategies and business plans
  • Demonstrable knowledge of managing retail outlets and setting performance objectives
  • Clear understanding of the retail industry’s value and ability chain to source in various business models
  • Experience in FMCG, leadership role and galvanizing high performing teams to deliver to set goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • God knowledge of homecare products
