CAP Youth Empowerment Institute Kenya was established to provide Basic Employability Skills Training (BEST) for disadvantaged youth in the society with particular focus on women to get
equitable, qualitative learning and access to promising labour market oriented opportunities, savings and credit that support their pathways to safe and positive futures.

The key purpose of this project is to assist 23,030 disadvantaged youth to make informed choices, develop labour-market oriented employability skills and access job placements, savings and enterprise development support.
Job Purpose: Creating linkages with the private sectors within the region, marketing the CAPYEI program and sourcing for students placements
Job Responsibilities
  • Creating linkages with the private sectors in the region
  • Forming linkages with various partners to obtain internship and employment opportunities for the students.
  • Identify diverse placement opportunities and work with students to access these placements
  • Organizing sectoral meetings
  • Coordination with the center teams 
  • Making presentations on various forums within the region
  • Taking part in student’s recruitment drives within the region.
  • Arranging of Guest Lecturers, Exposure visits, short term projects, assignments, external evaluations and center visits in coordination with regional coordinators.
  • Develop positive relationships with different stake holders from different industries.
  • Creating awareness and marketing the program within the region
  • Create and maintain a database of employers at all times.
  • Creating entrepreneurship linkages in the region
  • Managing the CSR within the region
  • Providing up to date reports for the region
  • In charge of the public relations within the region
  • Coordination of the market scan teams within the region
  • Any other duty assigned.
Qualifications, Training and Experience:
Academic and professional qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in any business related field (marketing, business management, public relations
  • Technical knowledge, skills and competencies
  • Ability to write narrative and analytical spread sheet reports;
  • Proven computer literacy in MS-Word, MS-Excel MS-Access or related programs required;
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate and perform multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
  • Spoken and written fluency in English desired; and
  • Customer service skills
  • Good networking skills a must
  • Ability to interact positively with management, and other employees, to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.
  • Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
Experience Required
  • At least 3-4 years of relevant and progressive work experience in business development/creating linkages in the private sector
