Job Vacancy: Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant
Location: Kitui South

CMMB Kenya is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant.
The position: Under direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer- Nairobi, the Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will be responsible for supporting the M&E activities of the CHAMPS program in Kitui South, including data collection, management, analysis, reporting and follow-up on activities.

Duties and responsibilities:
1. Planning
  • Support the M&E and Program team in the design of programs
  • Assist the M&E and Program teams in the development of M&E plans, which include the design of indicators, data collection, verification, analysis, and reporting methods
  • Assist in developing the knowledge management system to improve knowledge capturing, transferring, and use
2. Data Collection
  • Undertake visits to the field as needed to conduct and/or supervise data collection or verify data quality
  • Design and conduct surveys, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions
  • Compile and report best practices and lessons learned
  • Contribute to the documentation of program events such as meetings, events, and workshops
3. Data Management
  • Develop Contribute in developing databases, tools, and templates to track M&E activities
  • Regularly update and maintain information databases and trackers to a high level of accuracy and completeness
4. Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyze and synthesize data for use in strategy and program improvement
  • Prepare project reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Prepare other M&E related documentation as requested by the M&E Lead
Any other duties as assigned by the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (IT, Statistics, social science, communication or related field). A certificate in monitoring and evaluation is an advantage.
  • At least 2 years’ working experience in monitoring and evaluation in the health sector. 
  • Experience in child and maternal  healthcare is a distinct advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Experience with data form design, collection, and data entry
  • Experience with data management and analysis
  • Experience with report-writing
  • Experience with knowledge management (KM) is desirable.
