Commercial Bank Head of ICT

An Exciting Career Opportunity

A well-established commercial bank with a robust growth strategy, is looking for a dynamic and proactive Kenyan professional with strong credentials and relevant work experience to fill the position below to be stationed at its Head Office.

Head of ICT
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, as Head of the function, the incumbent will contribute to Bank’s strategic decision making, leadership and management, participate in corporate initiatives, and represent the Bank in all ICT related matters when required. 

S/he will lead and direct the provision and delivery of ICT Services throughout the Bank and provide leadership to the ICT team.

Main Duties:
  • Lead a team of ICT professionals
  • Develop and implement the ICT strategy and other policy documents and provide strategic direction.
  • Deliver various business critical and support systems to a range of users across the Bank on 24 hours, 365 days a year.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of ICT products and services, in accordance with agreed service and performance standards, industry best practice and in alignment with Bank objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive the ICT collaborative agenda with the Business units.
  • Oversee the ICT business change programme
  • Control and manage capital expenditure and budgets, ensuring expenditure within the ICT function is appropriately managed, based on lean management principles, quality of service commitment and performance management.
  • Participate in the company strategic development process.
  • Lead the procurement, supply and negotiation of ICT goods and services for the Bank as appropriate.
  • Oversee all people management matters within the function. This includes the development of teams and individuals so as to enhance performance and potential.
  • Manage the relationship with all key stakeholders both internally and externally and maintain appropriate communications forums with them.
  • Develop and maintain ICT security policy and procedures
  • Ensure that effective ICT provision is in place to support the needs of the company.
  • Perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
Minimum qualification and experience required:
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Master Degree in Computer Management/Information Technology / Business Administration or IT related Qualification is an added advantage.
  • Relevant Professional Certifications
  • 10 years’ experience in a banking environment, 5 years professional experience in an ICT environment including delivery of major projects with at least 3 years of senior management experience.
  • Working knowledge of core banking and clearing systems preferably T24 and Sybrin.
  • Working knowledge of alternate delivery channels
  • Knowledge of relevant products and services.
  • Good interpersonal skills
