Job Vacancy: Sales & Distribution Manager
 
The Organisation: Our client is a reputable manufacturer of dairy products derived from 100% Goat‘s milk. These dairy products include, milk, yoghurt and cheese and are available across various retail outlets. 

After six (6) years in the industry, the organisation is seeking to hire an experienced Sales and Distribution Manager from the dairy industry that can effectively drive sales and distribution management process to maximize sales and ensure targets are met as well as identify operational improvements and new business opportunities.
 
 
The Position: Reporting to the General Manager and Board of Directors, the overall purpose of this role will be to drive business development and revenue growth by ensuring that the dairy product line is well distributed across retail outlets with a dairy footprint, schools, hospitals and hospitality outlets such as hotels, restaurants (getting them to create a 100% Goats’ milk option in their menu offering)
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure growth and delivery of sales revenues for the entire dairy brand line in accordance with the corporate business plans and objectives 
  • To drive implementation of new advertising/marketing strategies across product lines by building frameworks within the sales function to increase sales and profit maximization.
  • To appoint and handle the distribution network and direct the implementation of new cost reduction initiatives 
  • Design and create processes with a sense of forward motion. 
  • Manage and develop relationships with existing and potential customers and distributors to leverage greater returns and take advantage of opportunities. 
  • To guarantee price integrity along with operation procedures and ensure the organisation’s standards are met. 
  • To effectively manage various stakeholders i.e customers, vendors and department associates. 
  • Performing cost-benefit analyses of existing and potential customers. 
  • To hire, train and manage a sales team and ensure competency in product knowledge, sanitation, customer service as well as the handling of sales on a seasonal basis. 
  • To identify areas that need improvement and develops strategies to improve sales functions and productivity in the department. 
  • Manage inventory of stock coolers and freezers. 
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Diploma in a business- related course.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ Sales & Distribution management experience
  • Sales experience within the Dairy industry is compulsory. 
  • Experience in managing high volumes sales & distribution is essential.
  • Retail Sales management experience is essential.
