General Maintenance Technician Job in Kenya

Job Vacancy: General Maintenance Technician; Real Estate
 
Job Summary: The incumbent will be expected to carry out a wide range of duties which include; maintenance of the apartments, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding and general repairs.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carryout all duties that are necessary in resolving reactionary activities, and report the need for further maintenance and safety to management
  • Ensure the proper use and safety of all tools in the workshop for cutting, plumbing and welding of equipment
  • Carryout detailed evaluation of workshop equipment to ensure that they are in good condition for proper functioning
  • Carryout general repairs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Inspect equipment such as taps, pipes from time to time for proper cleaning, and adequate lubrication
  • Repair and change locks in the building and perform minor lock servicing where necessary
  • Carryout out ground works by mowing lawns, weeding flower beds, clearing grasses on sidewalks to ensure a clean and healthy environment
  • Ensure maximum safety of all residents and property by ensuring repairs are done on time
Education and Experience:
  • 2yrs previous experience in the real estate industry
  • Relevant diploma/ certificate or its equivalent
  • NYS training or National Industrial training will be an added advantage
Key Competences:
  • Have good knowledge of electricity, carpentry and plumbing among other technical skills
  • Have good knowledge of troubleshooting techniques in order to determine exact problems and tackle them accordingly
  • Excellent ability to communicate system problems to both co-workers and management for proper understanding
  • Exhibit good mechanical skills to handle equipment to avoid causing injuries to self and others on ground
  • Have basic knowledge of the Occupation Safety and Health Act
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic English and Maths skills
