The Intergovernmental Relation Technical Committee (IGRTC) was established pursuant to the provisions of Section 11 of the Intergovernmental Relations Act, and includes implementing the decisions of the National and County Government Coordinating Summit (Summit) and the Council of Governors (CoG).

 IGRTC has advertised for the following position:

Chief Office Administrator

IGRTC Grade 7

2 Posts

Salary: Minimum 77,590.00

Job Description

  1. Taking oral dictation
  2. Using e – office to research and process data
  3. Operating office equipment
  4. Attending to visitors/clients
  5. Handling telephone calls
  6. Handling customer inquiries and complaints
  7. Coordinating schedules of meetings and appointment
  8. Coordinating travel arrangements
  9. Ensuring security of office records , equipment and documents including classified materials
  10. Ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of data
  11. Establishing and monitoring procedures for record keeping of correspondence and file movement
  12. Maintaining an up to date filling system in the office
  13. Preparing responses to routine correspondence
Job Specification

For appointment to this grade, an offer must have:

(i) Served in the grade of Senior Office Administrator  for a minimum period of (3) three years

(ii) Bachelor’s Degree in Secretarial Studies or Bachelor of Business and Office Management from a recognized institution

(iii) Certificate in Secretarial Management Course from Kenya School of Government or any other Government Training Institute

(iv) Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.

(v) Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution

In addition to the above requirements, an officer must have the following key competencies:


(i) Interpersonal skills including being a team player

(ii) Integrity and commitment to producing results

(iii) Proven working attitude and ability to give and take instructions  and

(iv) Ability to get on well with the diverse workforce.
