Job Vacancy: Arabic Teacher
Based in Dagahaley Refugee Camp

Project Summary: The objective of our project is to provide primary and secondary level of health care to the Refugees in Dagahaley refugee camp.  

MSF provides a full package of medical care through 4 primary health care units and 1 hospital (100 beds) with 24 hour emergency and OT.

Health services include curative, preventative, nutritional activities and emergency preparedness and intervention with partners. 

The selected candidate will be reporting to the Medical Team Leader.

Start date: ASAP

Package: Attractive salary package on offer with additional benefits including comprehensive health coverage
Contract duration: 1 month fixed term contract

Main Tasks include:
  • Teaching of the Arabic language to staff in the Dagahaley and applying  related tools within the mission according to MSF's standards and procedures in order to improve people’s capabilities in effectively achieving the mission's goals
  • Create syllabus for each of the courses assigned in line with the Ministry of Education
  • Plan, initiate and guide the units of study in Arabic which involve speaking, listening, writing, and reading
  • Create and evaluate assessments of each student’s work and keep records updated
  • Foster thought, discussion, reading comprehension, linguistic analysis and a consistent work ethic
  • Prepaid suitable teaching Resources
  • Administer and Mark standardized and other assessments during the course of the training
  • Communicate regularly and constructively with, students
  • Set and assign appropriate homework on a regular basis to reinforce student learning and to prepare them for further class activities
  • Use teaching methods engaging students, stimulating intellectual curiosity including the use of effective questioning, presentation and resources
  • Set high expectations for students behavior, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behavior management through well focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships
  • Contribute to the extra-curricular activities program 
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
  • Languages: Fluency in Arabic, English, Somali essential.
  • Education: Degree/Diploma  in Arabic Studies
  • Competencies: Results, teamwork, commitment, flexibility, service.
