Our client is a modern and dynamic company dealing with globally known beverages, are looking for the following post based in Nairobi. On-trade sector (sales with the Hotels / Clubs / Bars and restaurants category).

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

  1. University graduate with a recognized degree in the business related field.
  2. English, Swahili

Professional experience
  1. At least 3 year commercial or marketing experience in the business of beverages or FMCG.
  2. Experience dealing with the on-trade universe and with Food & Beverage Managers and Directors of various Hotels and restaurants.
  3. Strong sensitivity to the luxury wines and spirits universe
  4. Manage Sales Executives team efficiently
  5. Team player
  6. Understanding food and wine / Kenyan Lifestyle choices
Technical skills
  1. Computer literate
  2. Reporting and management skills a must
  3. Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
  4. SAP / EPR system knowledge is a plus
Personal skills
  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to embody the Brands in “public events”
  2. Team player, builds effective relationships up, down and across the organization
  3. Extrovert and like night life, like going out in on trade outlets (restaurants, bars, clubs and Hotels)
  4. Good leadership skills.
  5. Fast Learner
6 Key competences: action-oriented, drive for results, customer focus, strategic agility, creativity, learning on the fly

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implement and execute strategies for Viva’s brands to develop in Kenya and achieve the volume, profitability objectives and strengthening the image of brands
  2. Define on-trade commercial and marketing plan. Manage plan implementation coordinating with the sales team and suppliers / external agencies (events, press, media planning, sponsoring, etc.).
  3. Provide continuous support to on-trade clients for all sales and marketing functions. Create records and keep up to date the new accounts on trade.
  4. Support the sales team by giving them product training, developing programs and promotions tailored to their needs and helping them set up programs with on-trade customers
  5. Plan and monitor the brands’ promotion budgets to ensure that investments are focused on the relay of relevant growth
  6. Analyze the market (consumers, competition, trends) to identify challenge and opportunities for growth
  7. Write a monthly report defined by the Business Development Manager.
  8. Work aggressively with the sales force, and the On-Trade Sector.
  9. Kpis : Quantitative : commercial sales target achievement per accounts ; Qualitative : quality of execution & implementation of brand plan in a timely manner
