Engineering Company Business Development Officer Vacancy in Nairobi Kenya

Job Title: Business Development Officer
Location: Nairobi
Our client, an engineering company that is mainly involved in power lines construction, substations design and construction, generators and switchgear installations, solar systems and power systems for transmission is seeking to recruit a Business Development Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
  • Projects forecast and Tenders advertisement, monitoring and follow up through a frequent browse of the clients and information website, together with other relevant electronic or paper press.
  • Coordination with internal partners with which the company wishes to express interest, in close relation with the Business Development Manager and the Executive Director
  • Preparation and delivery of Expression of Interest to the Tender Managers of various firms.
  • Participation in the preparation and production of commercial documentation needed for the company promotion towards potential client.
  • Update the company reference database and lists by frequently interacting with the operational divisions (from contract signature up to Project closure).
  • Participation in all supporting activity aimed at facilitating the production of tenders
  • Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organization.
  • Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services with those of direct and indirect competitors and suggesting creative and competitive adjustments and improvements.
  • Monitor, follow up and centralize information related to prequalification and tender’s submission
  • Act as a principal support to the Business Development Manager in charge of the proposal production.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Diploma in Quantity Survey or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience as Business Development Executive/ Tendering/ Sales Executive.
  • Experience in the Engineering field is an added advantage.
  • Excellent Communication with attention to detail
  • Planning and Organizing Skills
  • Must be Flexible with a high sense of urgency
