Export Promotion Council (EPC) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives.

The primary mandate of the Council is to develop and promote export of Kenya’s goods and services.

Exports are the primary driver of our national economy and the Council wishes to strengthen and enhance delivery of this mandate by recruiting a high calibre, results oriented, experienced and skilled professional for the following position:

Senior Accountant

Job Description
 
The Job Descriptions will entail:
  1. Post data into the Financial Management System.
  2. Prepare costing guidelines for activities;
  3. Collate and circulate budget guidelines to budget holders;
  4. Review divisional budgets estimates for accuracy and completeness and compliance to policies and procedures;
  5. Review expenditure requests and postings to ensure they are charged to the correct budget line; and
  6. Undertake budget monitoring through variance analysis.
Appointment Specifications
 
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:Commerce, Public Finance, Financial Auditing Financial Accounting or Business related degree from a recognized institution;
  2. Certified Public Accountant Part III or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution; and
  3. Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or member of any other relevant Professional body recognized in Kenya;
  4. A minimum period five of (5) years relevant work experience;
  5. Proficiency in Computer applications
  6. Demonstrated competence in work performance.
  7. Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Job Description
 
The Job Descriptions will entail:
  1. Inputing accounting transactions in the books;
  2. Managing banking and bank reconciliation;
  3. Maintaining income and expenditure records;
  4. Collecting Council funds from GOK/Others and accounting for them;
  5. Initiating and facilitating preparation of financial accounts;
  6. Preparing audit schedules to facilitate yearly audits;
  7. Maintaining general and subsidiary ledgers; and
  8. Maintaining financial assets and liabilities.
Appointment Specifications
 
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:Commerce, Public Finance, Financial Auditing Financial Accounting or Business related degree from a recognized institution;
  2. Certified Public Accountant Part II or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution; and
  3. Proficiency in computer applications.
  4. Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Candidates must also comply with the provisions of Chapter six of the Kenya Constitution, 2010.

  1. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  2. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  3. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
  4. Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department (DCI)
  5. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
