Export Promotion Council Assistant Officer (Supply Chain Management)

Export Promotion Council (EPC) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives.

The primary mandate of the Council is to develop and promote export of Kenya’s goods and services.

Exports are the primary driver of our national economy and the Council wishes to strengthen and enhance delivery of this mandate by recruiting a high calibre, results oriented, experienced and skilled professional for the following position:

Assistant Officer, Supply Chain Management

Terms of Employment: Permanent
 
Job Description
 
This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under direct supervision of a senior officer.
 
Duties and responsibilities in this level will entail:
  1. Preparing tender documents, requests for proposals, and expression of interests;
  2. Attending to any clarifications sought by bidders;
  3. Preparing addendums and amendments to Tender Documents;
  4. Receiving and opening of tenders/quotation documents;
  5. Participating in the evaluation of tenders/quotations;
  6. Assisting in the preparation of Statutory Reports;
  7. Participating in the preparation of annual procurement and disposal plans;
  8. Preparing and submitting procurement reports;
  9. Implementing Tender, Procurement and Disposal Committee decisions;
  10. Undertaking inspection and acceptance of goods, services and works;
  11. Disposal of stores and equipment; and inventory management and control;
  12. Carrying out periodic market surveys;
  13. Maintaining custody of procurement registers, files and custody of bid documents;
  14. Preparing and submitting tender documents for contract preparations;
  15. Preparing and dispatching of Local Purchase Order (LPO) and Local Service Order (LSO); and
  16. Participating and conducting periodic and annual stock taking.
Appointment Specifications
 
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have at least: -
  1. Diploma in any of the following:- Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement and Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Economics, or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
  2. Proficiency in computer applications;
  3. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
  4. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Candidates must also comply with the provisions of Chapter six of the Kenya Constitution, 2010.

  1. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  2. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  3. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
  4. Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department (DCI)
  5. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
