Export Promotion Council Manager (Corporate Communications)

Export Promotion Council (EPC) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives.

The primary mandate of the Council is to develop and promote export of Kenya’s goods and services.

Exports are the primary driver of our national economy and the Council wishes to strengthen and enhance delivery of this mandate by recruiting a high calibre, results oriented, experienced and skilled professional for the following position:

Terms of Employment: Four (4) Years Contract Renewable Subject to Performance
 
Job Description
 
The job description will entail:-
  1. Providing overall management and coordination activities in Corporate Communication Division;
  2. Advising the Chief Executive Officer on Corporate Affairs;
  3. Developing, implementing and reviewing corporate Affairs policies, strategies and standards;
  4. Designing, initiating and supervising research on public relations issues and developing appropriate interventions;
  5. Devising and implementing measures to promote the corporate image of the Council;
  6. Developing press releases, speeches and briefs for the Council;
  7. Engaging with the media and other stakeholders on all matters of concern to EPC;
  8. Disseminating various customer care issues to relevant HODs for appropriate action;
  9. Championing Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes;
  10. Spearheading Customer Satisfaction surveys;
  11. Managing staff development and performance management systems in the Unit;
  12. Developing and disseminating the EPC Annual Report on achievements.
Appointment Specifications
 
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or Public Relations or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  2. Master’s degree Journalism, Mass Communication or Public Relations or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  3. A minimum period of ten (10) years relevant work with at least five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity;
  4. Professional qualification and membership where applicable
  5. Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
  6. Excellent oral and writing skills both in English and Kiswahili;
  7. Photography, video recording, branding, editing and social media skills;
  8. Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
  9. Proficiency in computer operation
  10. Demonstrated competence in work performance

Candidates must also comply with the provisions of Chapter six of the Kenya Constitution, 2010.

  1. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  2. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  3. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
  4. Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department (DCI)
  5. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
