Export Promotion Council Partnerships Manager

Export Promotion Council (EPC) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives.

The primary mandate of the Council is to develop and promote export of Kenya’s goods and services.

Exports are the primary driver of our national economy and the Council wishes to strengthen and enhance delivery of this mandate by recruiting a high calibre, results oriented, experienced and skilled professional for the following position:

Terms of Employment: Four (4) Years Contract Renewable Subject to Performance
 
The Manager, Partnerships, will be responsible to the Chief Manager, Corporate Strategy, Research and Advocacy for securing and growing the Council’s revenue streams through cash and in-kind partnerships. 

The functions will entail: -
 
Job Description
 
Job Descriptions will entail:-
  1. Identifying , securing and fostering financial and in-kind support from partners, including corporate sponsors, trusts and foundations, private donors or philanthropists and government;
  2. Managing and enhancing existing relationships, and building new relationships;
  3. Administering of the Customer Relations Management System (CRMS)
  4. Identifying and packaging partnership opportunities;
  5. Undertaking campaigns targeting prospective development partners;
  6. Strengthening mutual collaboration links with committed development partners;
  7. Publicizing the mission and role of EPC in the sector and the nation with the purpose of motivating collaboration and cooperation;
  8. Developing fundraising strategies, negotiation and management of fundraising agreements with financiers;
  9. Developing of effective means for handling funding transactions involving development partners and target beneficiaries;
  10. Initiating linkages with stakeholders to promote export promotion;
  11. Preparing and presenting proposals for grants to meet the needs of export promotion.
Appointment Specifications
 
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Micro or macroeconomics, Commerce, Business Administration, International Trade, Planning or any other relevant and equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
  2. Masters degree in any of the following disciplines Micro or macroeconomics, Commerce, Business Administration, International Trade, Planning or any other relevant and equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
  3. A minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience five (5) of which must have been in a senior management position in the public or private sector;
  4. Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  5. Proficiency in computer applications;
  6. Demonstrated thorough understanding of national goals, policies and development objectives and ability to align them to EPC policies and programs.
  7. Participated in formulation, development of trade policy, sector strategy and export development.
  8. Membership of a Professional Organization
  9. Critical thinking
  10. High aptitude in problem solving
  11. Decision making aptitude
  12. Teamwork and Relationship building
  13. Demonstrated competence in work performance
  14. Fulfiled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

  4. Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department (DCI)
  5. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
