Motor Vehicle Dealer's Workshop Jobs in Hargeisa Somaliland

Our client a Motor Vehicle Dealer based in Hargeisa Somaliland is seeking to recruit a highly talented and motivated motor vehicle repairs and maintenance personnel to work in a state of the art workshop. 

The positions open includes;


Reports To: Maintenance Foreman

Job Summary: Perform skilled electrical and mechanical work to diagnose, maintain,  repair, rebuild, overhaul, service and inspect vehicles and equipment. Inspecting, maintaining and repairing all electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment and vehicles in accordance with OEM instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instruct other workers in the maintenance and repair of cars and all types of equipment.
  • Repair lighting, heating, brakes and related systems of cars.
  • Perform electronic fabrication and assembly tasks such as soldering and repairing of electrical wiring.
  • Perform safety and preventive maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, rebuilding, and overhauling on all parts of cars.
  • Respond to service failures (road calls) as required.
  • Record completed inspections and repairs using forms or electronic software systems.
  • Complete written reports as required.
  • Perform work on DC electrical systems.
  • Operate a computer terminal to log work orders and parts maintenance. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of vehicle electrical and electronic systems including but not limited to propulsion, braking, cab signal and train control systems, door systems, intercoms and public address systems
  • Perform inspection, service, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of vehicle mechanical systems and car-shell, including but not limited to HVAC, drive units, trucks, couplers and brakes.
  • Respond to service failures as required
  • Utilize shop tools and test equipment such as wheel true machine, forklifts, table-lifts, hoists, cranes, power tools, specialized measuring tools, electronic test equipment, laptop computers and hand tools
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Ability to comply with all safety rules and instructions including the use of proper personal protective equipment
  • Record completed inspections and repairs using the Maintenance management System and other software tools; complete written reports as required
  • Operate trains within the confines of the shop mechanical tracks and storage yard
  • A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution with the ability to comprehend, communicate and respond to instructions, orders, signs, notices, inquires, etc. in English
  • An Associate’s Degree or Accredited Secondary School Diploma and successful achievement of industry required licenses or certifications Automotive Maintenance Technology program.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical systems and equipment preferably at a senior level. Heavy equipment mechanic or light rail Electrical Multiple Unit vehicle experience preferred
  • The ability to use equipment diagnostics systems such as found in Automotive Maintenance Software Applications
  • Must be able to pass the required training and examinations to become a Qualified Maintenance.
  • Ability to comply with all safety rules and instructions including the use of proper personal protective equipment
  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance manuals, schematics, prints and instructions typically used in the position
  • Must be able to work scheduled overtime and be available for non-scheduled emergency call outs outside of assigned work hours
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift, weekends
  • Must be a strong mechanic with mid- senior level experience.

Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment physical examination including a physical ability assessment related to the physical requirements of the essential functions of the position.

Automotive Diagnostic Technician

To Maintenance Foreman

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • As a General Diagnostic Technician, one will be working in a total car care repair center, with jobs ranging from standard maintenance to transmission R&R, to electrical diagnostics and everything in between. The job holder  will be responsible for explaining technical diagnoses and needed repairs to service staff and team members.
  • Other responsibilities of the General Diagnostic Technician will include:
  • Diagnose and repair automotive systems -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, air conditioning and computer systems
  • Transmission Removal and Installation
  • Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
  • Continuously learn new information and techniques
  • Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems and inventory supply needs
  • Maintain an organized work environment.
Job Requirements
  •  To be qualified for the General Diagnostic Technician position, you must have at least 5+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience. 
  • The General Diagnostic Technician is also required to provide strong leadership skills and a customer-focused attitude to go along with a high level of motivation and energy.
Other requirements include:
  • Appropriate Diagnostic tools necessary for service performed
  • Ability to communicate solutions to others
  • Must be punctual and bring a positive attitude to work everyday
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems
  • Multi-tasking ability
  • ASE Certifications / Master ASE certification is preferred but not required
  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment such as Scanners, electrical diagnostic equipment, AC recovery equipment, Fluid Exchange Equipment, Lift operation.
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Positive work ethics
Wheels & Tyre Fitter

The  position holder will be responsible for all wheels and tyres related repair and maintenance issues including diagnosis, computerized wheel balancing, wheel alignment, fitting wheels and tyres.
