Job Vacancy: Retail Leasing Manager


Industry: Real Estate   

Our client, offering services in asset management, corporate real estate, facilities management, property and project management, research, shopping centre management as well as valuations and advisory services is seeking to recruit Retail Leasing Manager who will be responsible for promoting Company products as a professional Broker to all assigned, existing and prospective accounts.  

Develops and maintains productive working relationships with clients and tenants that allow broking and marketing goals to be achieved.  

Conducts calls to tenants to seek the successful conclusion of Lease Agreements.  

Ensures that clients and tenants are well satisfied with our services. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of Leasing and Marketing functions.
  • Sourcing new leads.
  • Canvassing for new tenants and existing tenants for expansions, redevelopments and vacancies.
  • Lease negotiation – including TI negotiations.
  • Create Leasing and Income Schedule with accurate budgets.
  • Achieves budgeted / forcasted rentals.
  • Performs miscellaneous Leasing functions as required.
  • Prepare and present presentations to prospective clients and tenants as requested.
  • Prospects for new Leases and seeks opportunities to increase existing ones. 
  • Conducts regular tenant calls to develop client relationships and follow up on leads.
  • Tracks broking deals through closure and finalises Lease Agreements.
  • Negotiates rates and facilitates signing of contracts.
  • Meets established quotas and revenue goals.
  • Ensures services are delivered on time.
  • Forecasts deals on a monthly basis, and communicates related information regularly to management.
  • Maintains broker interaction : facilitates broker introductions by affectively taking over a deal from an outside broker.
Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relationships are established and maintained with Tenants and Landlords.
  • Ensures that clients are satisfied with Company services.
  • Obtains clients feedback and continually works to improve services.
  • Resolves clients requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Promotes goodwill and conveys a positive image of the Company.
  • Promotes services at trade shows.
Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective working relations, communication, and coordination with Company personnel, Management and with Clients.
  • Sets goals in accordance with Company objectives.  Tracks progress toward goals.
  • Provides assistance to department personnel as needed.
  • Keeps management informed of Leasing activities, changes in competitive conditions, and significant problems.
  • Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Manage staff efectively and assist with training and development
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Provides backup for other Brokers as needed.
  • Cross sells the Company’s other services and provides leads to other departments.
  • Sourcing of vacant space.
  • Assists with updating of client  and tenant database.
  • Interface between building owner and prospectives tenant by negotiating terms and conditions for agreement.
  • Canvasses and networks with previous placed tenants.
  • Ensures that changes in legal requirements and government regulations are integrated into current practices.
  • Stays informed regarding changes in Leasing practices and trends.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Sales and Marketing or related course
  • Five to seven years of progressive Leasing experience
  • Knowledge of Broking and Marketing techniques and principles
  • Able to operate computer applications, financial calculator and other basic business equipment
