Security Operations Supervisor

Job Title: Security Operations Supervisor
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the daily operations of guards at all sites by conducting routine patrols.
  • Must ensure that adequate personnel are deployed effectively at all sites at appropriate times and that they are efficiently allocated key areas of work with notes of high priorities items to be covered.
  • To ensure that all physical security to all on site customers is delivered within the company’s security policy.
  • Identify security personnel training needs and together with the Security Operations manager prepare a strategy to conduct these trainings.
  • To ensure that all performance and attendance issues are addressed at the correct time, in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • To maintain the Security Operations Manual up to date for use by all on site security personnel to cover duties, individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standard; training etc.
  • To take into account separate buildings and/or room security duties, and accordingly devise rosters appropriate for the same.
  • Initiate all security personnel vetting, security clearances and maintain appropriate records.
  • Report any significant security breaches to the security operations manager and Directors; and prepare recommended course of actions to be undertaken after full investigation; recommend course of action in consultation with Security operations manager.
  • To participate in the role of Incident Manager during any incidents and emergencies.
  • Ensure that all business recovery/contingency plans and/or procedures held within the operation sites are always kept up to date
  • Be on call on a 24 hours x 7 days basis for any emergencies occurring at any client sites the company provides services for.
Person specification skills and desirable qualities

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: -
  • Security professional with an experience of at least 2-3 years within the security industry.
  • Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong, trusted base relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
  • A sound working knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting the security industry.
  • Critical thinking skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and diplomatic engagement skills
  • Good IT skills with a working knowledge of the range of MS Office packages and knowledge of electronic security systems.
  • Sound judgment and decision making skills, with a ‘hands on’, problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents
  • Experience of writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in staffing levels
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Have the ability to operate a motorbike and be licensed for the same.

  1. Recognized security qualifications from a credible institution /college
  2. Must have no criminal record
  3. Drug Free
  4. Strong references from previous employers
  5. Safe motorbike driving record.
